WiCyS Amrita Student Chapter held its first ever StudentTechFusion at 5.15 PM on the topic Introduction to Capture The Flag (CTF) by student speakers Mr. Burla Rushyendra Reddy & Mr. Yaswanth Gadamsetti.

The StudentTechFusion sessions are aimed at spreading knowledge about various niches in the cyber security sphere while also allowing students to refine their public speaking & presentation skills.

Through live demonstrations, the speakers were able to educate the participants on the various aspects of CTF competitions. As the session was an introductory one, even total amateurs where able to understand the basic fundamentals and principle behind a CTF. The domains of CTF, especially Web Exploitation, Reverse Engineering, Cryptography & Forensics were discussed in detail. Tools like Aperi’solve, Dcode, CyberChef were introduced to the participants & platforms such as picoCTF, ctftime.org were suggested for getting familiarized.
